The paintings from the annual Mont De Lancey Acquisitive Art Show are displayed in the Ray Oliver Gallery, along with the Striezel Collection which features hand carved furniture, the work of Franz Striezel a German Woodcarver.
The Striezel Collection
Franz Striezel was a highly regarded German wood carver who emigrated to Australia in 1886 and is represented in the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria. Some stunning pieces of his highly prized works including an Australia inspired cocktail cabinet, card table and ornate mirrors were gifted to Mont De Lancey by his granddaughter Mrs Dorothy Adamson for permanent display.
