Group Tours of Mont De Lancey Historic Homestead and property
Set in the foothills of the Dandenongs within easy reach of the city and suburbs Mont De Lancey offers a perfect day tour destination for groups. Our volunteer guides many of them descendants of Wandin's pioneer families, will take you in smaller groups on a personally guided tour of St Mary's Chapel, the Homestead, Blacksmiths and Machinery Shed.
A minimum of two hours plus dining time is recommended for your visit. You might like to fill out your day with a visit to nearby Warratina Lavender Farm or Katandra Gardens, or one of the Yarra Valley's many wineries. Group concession prices for a conducted tour are available for pre-booked groups during normal trading hours, Wednesday to Sunday between 10am and 4:30pm. Les Chesselles French Café, located within the grounds of Mont De Lancey, offers special catering deals for groups of 15 or more. Enjoy a devonshire tea, a light lunch, or both.

Minimum number for all tours with catering is 15 people. Minimum number for tour only is 10 people. Tours can be conducted on a Monday or Tuesday, however a minimum group size of 15 people is required.

Exhibition at the MDL Gallery from Wed 14th April to Sun 9th May 2010.
An exhibition celebrating a mother's journey, exploring colour and the beauty of nature as the river flows towards the sea. Specialising in silk paintings & scarves, enhanced with a collection of mixed media paintings by Julia Goodwin.
(The Gallery is open Wed to Sun inclusive, 10-4.30pm, with $5 pp entry, which includes self-serve coffee & tea).

Amongst the early settlers were some who were aware of the dangers and temptations of strong drink, and, resolving to combat by their example and influence that great evil, they formed a Band of Hope Society. The chief promoter to this wise movement was Mr Wm Read of Gruyere, ably assisted by his sons and neighbors, their object being to teach the rising generation the principles of total abstinence. In the year 1879 the Rev John Barningham, the stationed Methodist minister, arrived in the district, and with Mr Walter Liddy as secretary, rendered much assistance in reviving the movement
